A ‘Lumpy’ Ride – 10th August

Lump does his finest Usain Bolt impression

I met Lump at his place in Ryton on Dunsmore and headed off to do one version of the Pools Loop (So called as these loops start at Ryton Pools – I think). Lump had a few mechanical issues to start with, and then a puncture, but pretty soon they were sorted and we kept the wheels rolling.

The weather was superb, sunny with the odd cloud, but the trails showed that it hadn’t been like this for  long and great chunks of Ridgeway Lane were a boggy mess. Onto the Canal towpath and we made easier progress. Once we hit the outskirts of Leamington we headed round Newbold Comyn golf course and into Cubbington, then Weston under Weatherley and back.

You can tell it’s getting towards the end of the summer, the combine harvesters are out and the nettles and brambles are in full on attack mode! My legs are still tingling!
