By Eck! It’s B.A.D.! – 30th December

Rob powered up the hill so fast that time and space started to distort around him!

Rob powered up Billinge Hill so fast that time and space started to distort around him!

A visit to some trails in some woods close to where Rob lived as a kid. There are two short trails “Two Trees” and the slightly longer and steeper “Tricky Sixty”. As with most things ‘urban’ the signage explaining about the trails has been smashed up, but the B.A.D. logo was on signage that was up in the trees, so Blackburn And District mountain bike club must have some link to it although there is no mention of it on their website, but I did find a news item from 2010 that mentioned a £45,000 linkup between the club and borough council

Great to see a local club doing something proactive to promote mountain biking in their area, shame we haven’t got something similar in Coventry….. (Oh, controversial! eh!)

For once on this trip ‘Oop North’ it didn’t rain while we were riding, and instead the heavens opened just as we got back to the car park!
